Polish Connection.
Its funny to me how I managed to find another person who has some Polish in them. I don't know why, it's not an obscure nationality, I just always thought it would be cool to be you know, Irish, or French. When we started having babies, I decided it would be cool to do some sort of family tree just so that my kids could say who they are, not just Heinz 57 sauce. In doing this I have begun researching some Polish holiday traditions that hopefully we can incorporate into our celebrations. There are some like, not cooking or cleaning, or really doing anything besides resting and hanging with family on Christmas Day, that we already do because, well, we are lazy. Others like putting hay under the Christmas Eve table cloth to represent the manger, that we might not do just because I really don't know where to get any and I really don't want to clean it up. Maybe I can come up with a bitchin' Babka recipe or something. I'm not sure what we are going to do in the end, but it's a neat feeling just a little connection with where we have some roots.
